Our Founder’s Vision
In 2019, Lauren Winans created Next Level Benefits to fix a problem she often saw through her work as an HR Benefits Leader. Short-staffed and overworked, her team had too many tasks and not enough time to focus on important programs that could improve employee well-being. While on-demand staff was easy to find for teams in design, marketing, and writing, there were few options for human resources. This led her to start a company that helped businesses get help quickly with on-demand HR expertise and interim HR talent.

Lauren Winans
CEO and Principal Consultant
Lauren is an employee benefits expert with more than 20 years of experience. She's worked in HR leadership roles at many well-known brands, including General Nutrition Centers, American Eagle Outfitters, CONSOL Energy, and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is known for improving company culture, enhancing total rewards programs, and offering strategic HR insights. She's a member of the Forbes Business Council and Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and her work has been featured in BBC News, USA Today, NBC News, and U.S. News and World Report.
Matt has over 20 years of experience in sales with a track record of success in growing businesses, managing client projects, and improving profits.
Jeff is an HR and IT expert with over 20 years of experience, certified by SHRM-SCP.
Jodi has worked in HR and employee benefits for nearly 30 years. She's great at making complicated topics easy to understand.
Kathleen is a payroll specialist with a background in people management and HR technology systems.
With over 30 years of experience, Laura specializes in creating and implementing healthcare and benefits programs for her clients.
Jessica is a strategic and innovative HR expert, working collaboratively with clients to create, cultivate, and build trust with employees at all levels.

Lisa Wagner
Human Resources Consultant
Lisa Wagner is an experienced consultant in human resources. She has worked in HR leadership positions for over 20 years and can manage HR functions, policies, and procedures on a global scale. Lisa is known for providing actionable feedback and building strong relationships with her clients' leaders and employees. Before becoming a consultant, she worked as an HR business partner at Moda Operandi, Turning Point HCM, The EGC Group, and American Eagle Outfitters. Lisa has a Bachelor's in Fashion Merchandising from The State University of New York and is certified as a Senior Professional in HR (SPHR). Her expertise includes HR strategy, employee relations, talent acquisition, and workforce planning.
Andrea LaFortune
Human Resources Consultant
Andrea LaFortune is an experienced HR consultant and actuary who specializes in creating employee compensation and benefits plans. She uses the latest trends to help companies make their rewards programs better. She is excellent at making sure employee pay and benefits are well matched to create a better overall package for company employees. And she is skilled at managing difficult projects related to employee rewards. She holds a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Tufts University and has a proven track record in project management.
Jessica Rivera

Jessica Rivera has worked in HR for over 20 years focused on building and rebuilding a solid foundation for HR programs and structures. Her functional areas of expertise include organizational structure and design, employee relations and coaching, engagement, total rewards, and compliance. She's great at dealing with ambiguity, taking action, driving change, and working with senior leaders to foster an engaging culture. Prior to consulting, Jessica held HR leadership roles in the Finance, Fintech, and Hospitality industries. She has both bachelor's and master's degrees in human resources management from Florida International University.

Laura has over 30 years of experience in employee benefits and has worked for popular companies like Nasdaq, S&P Global, Conde Nast, and Time Warner. She helps clients create and execute programs that provide benefits to employees, offers HR healthcare solutions, and establishes HR policies. She holds a Bachelor's in Marketing from Fordham University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She also holds certifications in Global Benefits Management from IFEBP and HR Ethics from HRCI.
Kathleen Stalkie
Human Resources Consultant
Kathleen is an experienced payroll consultant with a background in people management, employee pay, and HR technology systems. She's a problem-solver who can help work through staff conflicts and build employee trust in a diverse workplace. She has worked with well-known companies like Faros Properties, Hampshire Properties, The Guarantors, GlassView, Chexology, and CIGNA. Kathleen has a Bachelor's in History from Penn State University.
Jodi Holman
Human Resources Consultant
Jodi has worked in human resources and staff benefits for almost 30 years. She is known for her great attention to detail, explaining difficult topics in simple terms, and building strong working relationships with her clients. Jodi has worked for many companies, including Ascena Retail Group and BISYS (Citigroup). She has a degree in business administration and accounting from Ohio State University and a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification from IFEBP. Her work is respected by both her colleagues and clients.
Jeff Houser
Human Resources Consultant
Jeff is an expert in Human Resources and Information Technology with over 20 years of experience. He is certified by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-SCP) and has excellent leadership and training skills. He has worked for well-known companies like United Way, Kraft Heinz, Bayer, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Phillips Respironics. He has extensive experience managing HR systems (HRIS), enhancing employee satisfaction, analyzing company data to recommend HR program improvements, and promoting diversity and inclusion programs (D&I). Jeff has a Master's in Human Resources Management from LaRoche College and a bachelor's degree in General Management from Indiana University of PA.

Matt has over 20 years of experience leading sales teams and helping businesses grow. He is skilled at developing businesses, managing client projects, and helping companies improve their profits. Matt has worked as a top sales leader at Thermo Fisher Scientific and gained valuable experience at the University of Pittsburgh, where he managed the business side of the cancer research labs. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University and earned his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pittsburgh.
