We get asked all the time about paid holidays and what the standard offering should be. According to the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans 2022 Benefits Survey Data, the current average is nine company paid holidays per year.
The most common offered as paid days off, in order of popularity, are:
- New Year’s Day
- Thanksgiving
- Independence Day
- Memorial Day
- Christmas Day
- Labor Day
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
